Vol­un­teer expe­ri­ence

Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, Feb­ru­ary 2008 to May 2010
I served as alter­nate del­e­gate to State Cen­tral Com­mit­tee, direc­tor on the Exec­u­tive Com­mit­tee, and precinct chair, and I vol­un­teered in data entry and phone banks, using VAN and Microsoft Excel, and designed and main­tained the web­site (www.sd48dfl.org) and social net­work­ing pages until August 2009. From Feb­ru­ary to May 2010, I was a precinct chair in Sen­ate Dis­trict 61.

Amer­i­can Civil Lib­er­ties Union, June 2008 to Sep­tem­ber 2008
I attended the 2008 ACLU National Con­fer­ence in Wash­ing­ton, D.C., and dur­ing the Repub­li­can National Con­ven­tion, I mon­i­tored protests in Saint Paul and edu­cated pro­test­ers about their rights and respon­si­bil­i­ties by han­dling out infor­ma­tion cards and pam­phlets.

Voter reg­is­tra­tion and edu­ca­tion, Jan­u­ary 2008
I gave pre­sen­ta­tions on Minnesota’s cau­cuses, and I hosted a can­di­date forum at my high school, effec­tively mar­ket­ing an event that gar­nered tele­vi­sion and print media cov­er­age. I ran a voter reg­is­tra­tion drive, super­vis­ing and train­ing four stu­dent vol­un­teers, aimed at eli­gi­ble high school stu­dents, con­se­quently reg­is­ter­ing about 120 eli­gi­ble high school stu­dents.
